Passing On
Student Nurse Nancy is experiencing one of the more difficult aspects of medical training, death. She reflects on the events of the past week:
I didn’t know it at the time but I gave her last bath before she died later in the afternoon. I expected it to bother me, her passing, but it didn’t. After watching her struggle for every breath, hungry for air, I felt relieved for her. I believe in heaven and it’s wonders and I was glad she was there.
