You Want Spoleto?

Local roundup

We have Spoleto.  The blogs are full of reviews and chatter about the festival.

Don’t forget to hit SpoletoToday and The Spoleto Buzz for more art and culture than can described with a cliche.

Blues loving Chuck headed to Dough Re Mi to catch Wanda Johnson, but saw Shrimp City Slim, when Ms. Johnson could not make the show:

The crowd - many in town for Spoleto and quite a few first-timers at the Blues club - showed their appreciation to Gary Erwin, keyboard; Jerome Griffin, bass; “Silent Eddie” Phillips, guitar and Lamont Garner on drums.

It was a different evening than I had planned but the music was great as the band showed its respect.

Eugene enjoyed Kids in the Hall:

There were a lot more people at the show than I expected, filling about half of the North Charleston PAC. Didn’t think there were that many people in Charleston who knew who Kids in the Hall were. One guy even held up a Canada shirt that showed up on the screen during the last skit.

Nick gives a rundown of the the plays he saw over the weekend.

Dan caught Eurydice, Lobby Hero, I Live Next to Horses.

I’m Dancing as Fast as I Can notes the Charleston Ballet Theater’s first Spoleto performance and notes the review of Twisted Tango.

John Stoehr provides a look at the new Associate Artistic Director of Spoleto’s Chamber Music Series.
